Mold
Molds are a natural part of the environment. They are a type of fungi. They are found everywhere. In order to reproduce, molds release “spores” into the air. These spores are so tiny and lightweight that they can become airborne and inhaled. Inhaling large amounts of molds and their spores can cause health problems.
Health Canada considers indoor mold growth to be a potential health hazard. There is a relationship between indoor mould, damp conditions and increased:
- Eye, nose and throat irritation
- Coughing and phlegm build-up
- Wheezing and shortness of breath
- Symptoms of asthma
- Allergic reactions
Health Canada recommends that all mould, regardless of the species, be cleaned and that the underlying water or humidity problem be dealt with quickly to prevent potential health issues.
We are well-trained and experienced in mold inspection, mold testing and mold remediation.
Mold Inspection: We follow industrial Mold Inspection Standards of Practice to conduct mold inspection at the subject building from roof to basement foundation. We will provide a written report after inspection, pointing out the issues that have been found and giving professional suggestions on how to solve the problem.
Mold Testing: We provide airborne mold testing and surface sampling. Written reports will be provided, including Certificate of Mold Analysis.
Mold Remediation: Before getting started, we will write down the work scope. After completing, we will suggest clients to hire a qualified inspector who is independent of the mold remediation contractor to assure that indoor air quality with respect to airborne fungi is within the acceptable range.
